I have just come from 7 months of caring for my mother after she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. What a terrible disease. I just wanted to share some things I learned medically and spiritually. Right before all this happened, last fall, I was in the middle of taking a one on one Reiki Master course. I wasn't too happy with the teacher, but all was forgotten when my mom started to get ill. To make a long story short, I used a LOT of Reiki on her the whole time, and a month before she died I took a Reiki Master class from someone else, and became a Reiki Master.
In doing research on cancer, I also came across a diet that I would urge you to look into. It's called the Budwig diet (check out the books on Amazon). There are 3 books and a great yahoo group on it. Basically you replace your oils with flax oil, go vegetarian, and do lots of juicing, in addition to making sure you get sun or Vit D every day and relax (the Reiki takes care of the latter). It has produced some remarkable results for people. If you're on morphine it's a little less effective, but people have had good results with that too. My mother personally could not stand morphine - it made her hallucinate 24 hours a day. Even though hospice protested, we insisted and had her change to oxycodone, which although still constipating, was much more compatible with her system, even though still constipating.
The thing I was aware of on a spiritual level was that my mother needed to learn how to receive. She would indeed give everything and was loving, but it was hard for her to accept things as simple as a hug. This was something that happened to her more as she aged.
So, I got my psychic friend to answer a few questions about the Reiki and her illness, which you might also be interested in. Yes, it turned out that my mother was going to do whatever it took to learn how to receive. I had been right. She received a great deal of sweetness at the end especially.
My mother's inability to receive was so profound that it affected her ability to absorb all the natural things I had researched to give her. She had some radiation, which took her out of pain, but one round of chemo nearly did her in, and she landed in the hospital for 5 weeks this summer. The doctors expected her to die in 2 weeks or so, but she lasted 2 and a half more months.
While she was on increasingly strong fentanyl patches and oxycodone for breakthrough pain, the Reiki kept her energy field clear so she could do the spiritual work she needed to do before she passed. She apparently passed in great shape energetically. But because she couldn't receive, I imagine she didn't receive as much physical healing as she might have, I don't know.
I'm wondering if you have meditated on the spiritual source of this cancer, especially since there's so much symbolic potential in the fact that it's in your mouth, which is where you both express things and take things in. It doesn't make this disease any more fair or anything. Cancer sucks and I really hate everything that it does to people. But if you can pinpoint this, maybe you can work on some emotional stuff that could help fight the cancer.
